Well Beth Rusch and I have joined forces and are attempting to make history with our fundraiser.  We have had a HUGE and I mean HUGE turnout for the silent auction.  I think we hit almost every small business there is in Greenville.  PostCards from Paris, GreenCo Beverage, Paws and Claws, Petals Boutique, and Pedal Chic, High Cotton, Soby’s, Monkey Joe’s, Elephant trunk, Style by Becca, Christina Nicole, Guy Stevens, Massages from Kelly Vanleeunwen, Brad McKay, Heather Forbes, and Massage Envy, West End Spa and River Falls Spa, Cook Station, Liz Daly, Carolina Tri, Great Escape, Ride On Bicycles, Anytime Fitness, RoadWaves Fitness, YMCA and we still have more asks out there…. that is like HUGE! 

The Silent Auction is for the Big Event… The AWESOME event.  We deemed it … RockOut4Cancer.  4 Amazing bands under one HUGE roof.  THE HANDLEBAR!  The event is this saturday as in tomorrow… 6/17/2011 and I gaurentee it will rock your socks off.  We are on facebook too. 

Every event has to have a goal.  Both Beth and I are determined to reach $10,000 or more.  No we are not greedy either.  I have a personal goal which is to reach $20,000.  I am not an overachiever…I am doing this to raise awareness.  For my Dad who passed away of melanoma, my grandfather (mom’s side) who passed away of melanoma, and for me – yup melanoma here too, and for my daughter who has had skin cancer and is only 11.

Oddly enough Beth and I made an immediate connection when we met each other 2 years ago.  She lost her best friend to melanoma….. and her best friend… has the same birthday as I do.  There is definately a reason that God had us cross paths. 

Now, you put the Event Coordinator of Greenville, and Jeni (i will give myself a worthy title here….) Queen of Philanthropy and you will have a rockin evening… 

I am not going to sit around and let this disease consume my life.  I am going to fight.  And with friends like the C3 group (challenge to conquer cancer) I have a chance to win the battle with research.  Join us!  Tomorrow.  Make a difference.  Please.  We have a right to celebrate life and to kick Cancer’s BUTT!

Polka Dots van is ready, The food is in the van… and the kids are getting excited. I am not talkin about the kids at home…
I realized last night that it is finally here. I could not sleep. Almost like the first day of school. Hmmmm. Anxiety over the cold and the ride for sure. Did I forget to pack something…. Well we will see.

Today was the send-off for the riders on the trip. Great sunny brisk day, and lots of family, friends, and love at the send-off. Long live P3C3, and may the donations and efforts of everyone involved find it’s way into the lives of thousands of cancer warriors and inspire all!

Brown Street Jazz Club – 864-250-9193 – 115 Brown Street, Greenville, SC

We need a good showing at the Spinners meeting on Monday, Sept. 8 at 6:30.  It will be held at The Coffe Underground at the corner of Coffee and Main.  Big Joe Sullivan is going to ask the Spinners to buy a trailer for the P3 that we can take to Austin.  Please come in your Austin t-shirt and support Joe.

Please contact Susannah Hogan to volunteer to help with beer and soda sales at the Pro Championships on August 31.  You can sign up for shifts or work all day. We will have the booths from 10:30 – 6:30 and we will keep all  the tips and $0.25 per braclets. shogan35@aol.com.

There will be a P3 night at the Greenville Drive game on August 25. George Hincapie will throw out the first pitch. We will have a table to sell LiveStrong bracelets and magnets. You can apply a portion of the money from the magnet sale to your fundraising goal. Please plan on attending. I have 40 tickets that our sponsor, The Spa at West End, gave to us. Let me know if you would like some for you and your family or friends.

Saturday August 16^th
Denise will be leading the group. They are leaving from the parking lot at Lake Robinson at 7:00 SHARP. Renee will provide SAG support. We’ll go somewhere around 50 or 60 miles and there will be some climbing involved (almost no way around it in that part of the county). Sunday August 17^th
Ron will be leading the group. We are leaving from the parking lot next to the PAC center at Furman University. We will leave at 12:00 sharp. The plan is to ride as far as we can towards Saluda before we have to turn around to get back for our MANDATORY meeting at 4:00. I will have the location for the meeting tomorrow. If you do not want to ride up the little hill towards Saluda, you can just ride around Furman and Green Valley. Please let Ron know if you plan on riding or sag on Sunday. rjerina@charter.net
